Don Long, M Ed, LPC, NCC (Baton Rouge)

Don Long, M. Ed., LPC, NCC, received his master’s degree from the University of Connecticut in May 2014. He has extensive experience working with children and young adults in a variety of educational (middle school, high school, college, youth sports camps) settings, as well as in community mental health. Mr. Long was a mental health caseworker for five years in Durham, NC, completed an internship as a College Ed instructor at Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT in 2013, as well as an internship as a school counseling intern at Sherwood Middle School in Baton Rouge, LA in 2014. He has worked full time as a school counselor in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. He became a Licensed Professional Counselor in April 2018.
Mr. Long specializes in depression, mood dysregulation disorders, anxiety, social-emotional development, and adjustment and behavior disorders in children and young adults. As a former Division 1 student-athlete (basketball) at the University of Maine, Mr. Long also has an interest in and realizes the importance of assisting athletes and other young individuals with healthy stress management and identity development.
