What is ADHD EvaluationAn ADHD evaluation is designed to examine problems with inattention, impulsivity, disorganization, and behavior that are not fully within an individual’s control and that are disrupting his/her ability to function effectively in different areas of life. Because many of these symptoms are found in normal people, it is important to carefully evaluate personal history and family history through clinical interview, behavior and symptoms via objective measures, and formal cognitive testing. When symptoms appear to be interfering with school performance, ADHD evaluation is best done within the context of a more comprehensive, psychoeducational evaluation.
