Laura Bertucci has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana since 2016. Mrs. Bertucci graduated with her Master’s in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University in 2013 and has practiced in several parishes across the state of Louisiana.
Laura Bertucci has experience providing counseling in various settings. She worked in the Louisiana public school system for years providing individual, group, and family counseling to students and their families. During this time, Mrs. Bertucci worked with students experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, psychoeducation, social/emotional issues, and those struggling with disciplinary and behavioral issues. Mrs. Bertucci has experience working on crisis teams and walking students and families through emergent situations, as well as coping with the aftermath of crisis. She has also practiced in an outpatient hospital psychiatric setting where she saw adults experiencing anxiety, depression, psychosis, and mood disorders. This included extensive work within group settings, psychoeducation, and more specifically with adults experiencing grief associated with the aging process.
For Injured Workers Mrs. Bertucci uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while working toward setting goals to make positive changes in their lives. “With workers comp clients we challenge unhealthy types of thinking and create goals and coping strategies so that they can learn to respond to challenging life situations in a healthier way.”
Mrs. Bertucci strives to create a safe and healthy environment with clients to process and work through challenging emotions and experiences. She will be seeing patients at the Metairie main office and is also providing teletherapy.
